 Burger and Fries

By Heather Blanchette

It’s always nice being 21-plus when there’s a bar across the street, but it’s even better when that bar serves up a mean sweet potato fry basket and delicious onion rings. And it doesn’t hurt that the waiters are hot either. Read the rest of this entry »

 Mint Thins

By Heather Blanchette

My closet is my own personal grocery store. Whenever I go grocery shopping I act like I haven’t seen food in years. The amount of groceries that my roomie and I lug back the 10 minute walk from Shaw’s to our apartment could feed a small army, and is also the reason we’ll have very happy chiropractors someday. Amp Overdrive Tall Boy

By Jordan Thompson

Unlike most energy drinks like Monster, Redbull, Crunk and the hundreds of other Energy Drinks on the market Mountain Dews Amp Energy Drink Overdrive delivers more taste and less crash then any other energy drink on the market bar none.  The problem that I have is when I decide to go skateboarding and don’t feel like eating a full meal or eating those crazy tasting energy bars to keep me lifted while i destroy the only body I have left.  I go right for an energy drink, but unlike the masses of people out there who just stick with the highly marketed Redbull and Monster energy drinks an Amp Overdrive has a great taste and a very good rush of energy. Easy Mac

By Jordan Thompson

If you were to sum up Easy Mac in one word it would have to be “Incredible”! Though it is hard to sum up a product with the magnitude that Easy Mac has in just one word, it’s the first word that came into the mind of the six people I asked before I started writing this entry! It’s there when your in college and have little money and a large appetite and it’s there for you when your trying to impress a girl with some good old fashioned home cooking! To be honest with you if your making Easy Mac for a date and it’s your first date then I hope the girl runs out of the apartment or dorm room in a screaming panic, because no man should give up the Easy Mac on the first date. I mean come on guys have some self respect! Read the rest of this entry »

brownie

By Heather Blanchette

1) So this one time, I tried to make mini brownies in a doll-sized cupcake tin - but it didn’t occur to me that they wouldn’t need to stay in the oven as long as the normal brownie tin would. Needless to say, it was probably a good thing that they got permanently stuck in the tin or I would have chipped a tooth! Read the rest of this entry »

Coke vs Pepsi, The True King of Cola

Coke vs Pepsi
By Jordan Thompson

The battle between the true king of cola has been raging for years!  You have the company thats in the hearts and minds of the people Coca Cola and then you have the Next Generation Cola from Pepsi.  The word Cola comes from the African Evergreen Plant, which is one of Two Cola Plants (Cola acuminata or C. nitida).  The reddish fragrant nut like seeds yield an extract that contains Caffeine and theobromine and is used in Carbonated Beverages and Pharmaceuticals.  The ironic thing with the plant being used in Pharmaceuticals is when Coca Cola first came out in 1886 the first place Coca Cola was sold at was Jacob’s Pharmacy in Atlanta. Burger King

By Heather Blanchette

As I was reading Real Simple magazine, I got really excited about an article describing a Burger King product that had come out in 1998. In the April 1 edition of USA Today, BK ran an ad to promote their new product, the “Left-Handed Whopper.” Read the rest of this entry »

Kahlua Recipes

Submitted By Ashley Lowe

Whenever I return home from a long night of binge drinking, I always step through the door wondering what it is that I will snack on before passing out.  It seems grocery store trips lately have been made with the idea of late night munchies in mind.  During a most recent visit with my dearest friend we planned ahead to bake a cake after the bar.  An hour later at 3:30 am we dined on little slices of heaven.  Read the rest of this entry »
